Belleville has a metropolitan area population of about 92,000 people and is located in southeastern Ontario in the Quebec City-Windsor Corridor. Belleville is the commercial, employment, institutional, entertainment and cultural center of the Quinte region and offers all the commercial and public services of a large urban center including the region’s largest hospital and retail mall. With an annual growth rate of about 7%, Belleville is one of the region’s fastest growing municipalities.

In addition, there are several museums such as the RCAF Memorial Museum, the Glanmore House Historical Museum, and the Ameliasburgh Museum Complex, as well as cultural heritage sites including the Tyendinaga Mohawk Territory and Fort Henry.
Postsecondary education in Belleville is provided by Loyalist Community College. In addition, there are plans to open a university to the Quinte region in order to attract business and keep highly educated people in the region.
