Kamloops has a population of about 93,000 people and is located in south central British Columbia at the shore of Kamloops Lake and Thompson River.

Higher education in Kamloops is provided by Thompson Rivers University and a satellite campus of Vancouver’s Simon Fraser University that offers MBA programs as well as undergraduate degrees.
The city features a diverse ethnic makeup. It has significant communities of South Asians, Chinese, Japanese, Blacks, Filipinos, Southeast Asians, Koreans, Latin Americans and many more.
